What Is the WALMART.COM 800-966-6546 Charge?

The WALMART.COM 800-966-6546 charge is generally connected with a transaction made through Walmart.com or the Walmart app.

Possible purchases include:

  • An item shipped to a home or business
  • A grocery delivery order
  • A store-pickup order
  • An order fulfilled by a local Walmart store
  • An item sold by a Walmart Marketplace seller
  • A digital product or electronic gift card
  • A pharmacy or other Walmart.com service
  • An order placed using guest checkout
  • A purchase made through another Walmart account
  • A purchase made by a spouse, family member, employee, or other authorized user
  • A temporary authorization hold
  • A transaction the cardholder did not authorize

The amount, order date, Walmart account, email receipt, and transaction status can help identify the purchase.

What Is 800-966-6546?

The number 1-800-966-6546 is associated with Walmart Customer Care.

It may appear on a statement as:

  • A merchant-contact number
  • Part of the Walmart.com billing descriptor
  • Contact information supplied to the card network or bank
  • A shortened version of the online merchant record

The presence of the number does not mean that the cardholder called Walmart or placed an order by telephone.

Why Does the Charge Say AR?

`AR` generally refers to Arkansas, where Walmart has major corporate and merchant operations.

It does not necessarily mean:

  • The order was placed in Arkansas
  • The product shipped from Arkansas
  • The cardholder visited Arkansas
  • The pickup store was in Arkansas
  • The Marketplace seller was located in Arkansas

Banks often display a company or merchant-account location rather than the store, warehouse, seller, or delivery location involved in the order.

How to Find the Walmart Order

  1. Record the complete descriptor, amount, date, and transaction status.
  2. Sign in to Walmart.com or the Walmart app.
  3. Select Account.
  4. Open Purchase History.
  5. Review shipping, pickup, delivery, and digital orders.
  6. Open each likely order and review the total and payment information.
  7. Check whether the order was divided into more than one shipment.
  8. Review substitutions, canceled items, tips, taxes, and fees.
  9. Search every email account for Walmart receipts matching the amount.
  10. Check other Walmart accounts used by the household.
  11. Ask every authorized user of the payment card.

Official order resources:

What If You Used Guest Checkout?

An order may not appear in the Walmart account when:

  • Guest checkout was used
  • A different email address was entered
  • A different telephone number was used
  • Another household member placed the order
  • The purchase was made through a business account
  • The order was placed through an older or duplicate account

Search all email accounts for:

  • Walmart
  • The exact charge amount
  • The approximate transaction date
  • Order confirmation
  • Pickup ready
  • Delivery confirmation
  • Shipping confirmation

Is It an Online Purchase or an In-Store Purchase?

The `WALMART.COM` wording most strongly points toward an online, app, pickup, delivery, or shipping transaction.

However, Walmart may connect certain store purchases with an online account when:

  • The payment card is saved in the Walmart account
  • Walmart Pay was used
  • A store receipt was scanned in the Walmart app
  • The order began online and was picked up at a store

Review both online Purchase History and any physical receipts.

What Is a Walmart Temporary Authorization Hold?

Walmart may authorize an estimated amount before an order is completed.

The bank displays this as a pending authorization hold.

The hold may be different from the final order total because of:

  • Items priced by weight
  • Grocery substitutions
  • Changed quantities
  • Items added after checkout
  • Out-of-stock or canceled items
  • Bag fees
  • Other order adjustments

Walmart charges the final amount when the order is:

  • Picked up
  • Delivered
  • Shipped

The bank controls when the original pending hold disappears.

Why Are There Two Walmart Charges?

Two entries may represent:

  • A temporary hold and the final completed payment
  • Two separate orders
  • An order split into multiple shipments
  • Items added after the original order
  • A second pickup or delivery timeslot authorization
  • A grocery order and a separate general-merchandise order
  • A Walmart.com order and a Walmart+ membership payment
  • Orders placed by two authorized users
  • A failed payment attempt followed by a successful charge
  • An actual duplicate transaction
  • Repeated unauthorized activity

Compare:

  • The amounts
  • The dates and times
  • Pending versus completed status
  • Order numbers
  • Shipment details
  • Pickup and delivery records

Why Did the Final Walmart Amount Change?

A final Walmart.com total may differ from the amount first shown at checkout.

Possible reasons include:

  • Weighted produce, meat, or other grocery items
  • A more or less expensive substitution
  • Items added to or removed from the order
  • Out-of-stock items
  • Delivery tips
  • Bag fees
  • Taxes
  • Retail delivery fees required by certain states
  • Separate shipment or seller charges
  • Refunds or adjustments

Compare the statement with the finalized receipt rather than the original estimated checkout total.

What Happens When a Walmart Order Is Canceled?

When an order is canceled before completion, Walmart may release the authorization hold rather than issue a traditional refund.

The pending amount may remain visible until the bank removes it.

A canceled order can therefore show:

  • A pending charge that later disappears
  • A completed payment followed by a refund
  • A lower final amount after some items are canceled
  • Separate refunds for different items or shipments

Official information:

How Long Does a Walmart Refund Take?

Walmart says credit- and debit-card refunds can take up to seven business days.

The time can depend on:

  • The payment method
  • The financial institution
  • Whether the entry was a hold or completed payment
  • Whether the item came from Walmart or a Marketplace seller
  • Whether the return has been received or scanned

Official resources:

Could the Charge Be From a Walmart Marketplace Seller?

Yes.

Walmart Marketplace allows third-party businesses to sell products through Walmart.com.

The statement may still show Walmart.com even when another seller supplied or shipped the product.

To identify the seller:

  1. Open Walmart Purchase History.
  2. Select the applicable order.
  3. Review the Sold by and Shipped by information.
  4. Select Contact Seller when available.

Marketplace return periods and restrictions can differ from items sold directly by Walmart.

Someone wrongfully used my credit card to attempt to charge walmart.com 8009666546

December 13, 2022

Someone wrongfully used my credit card to attempt to charge a purchase on walmart.com. Fortunately, my bank declined the charge three times and send me an alert. The attempted charge is listed as “walmart.com 8009666546”. I called the Walmart customer service number and gave them the charge amount and amount of declined charge and asked if they could give me details. I also asked what is the meaning of 8009666546? I was talking to an absolute moron with strong accent. She did not listen and talked very fast. Total waste of time to call Walmart customer service. I am glad that I never shop at Walmart.
