    2. This is a company who is linked to 100's of other organizations, if you've purchased something from one of those organizations it signs you up for an automatic membership charge of $69.. you'll have to have call their customer service, they'll offer a bunch of advertisements and then agree to refund you within a few days. Super annoying.

  2. My name is Elli, and
I was recently charged $64.95 for CHKCARDACTIVE.COM-REGISTRATIO877 228 4881CA. I'm not sure what this was for, so if you could let me know that would be great! I'm probably forgetting something, but I want to make sure. Thanks!

  4. thank you,
it seems to be some kind of auto-renewal of membership,
    one I never consented to.
    shady and deceptive, at best.

  5. I feared scam AS WELL, but this may be the cover name of the 5k I attended - Run or Dye. The cost sounds about the same for the tickets. Always track the purchases you make, that's my new motto.

  6. It is a agency that collects monies for events you most likely agreed to. I found a charge and it was my boys college trip. Looks fishy but they just are a 3rd party collector.

  7. Just saw a charge for $100 it is a one time fee for a club we just joined.

  8. For me it was also a charge for a 5K run I did online.. no scam.

  9. Just checked on mine, and it is the Iron Girl 5K I registered for. Completely legit.

  10. Thought it was a scam but turned out it was a YMCA membership charge.

  11. While 5k run events may be legit, they scam you into an opt-out only "free trial" and automatically charge the credit card on file after 30 days with no notice.

  12. Although I've used them to sign up for runs, I noticed an unwarranted charge on my card by them one day. It's due to the opt-out only "free trial" where they automatically charge the credit card on file after 30 days with no notice. Beware, if you didn't actually want the premium membership.

  16. I just say it on my account, called and apparently I was charged a 64.95 annual membership fee for registering for a 5K. The promised to refund it in 3-5 days.

  17. Got charge of $ 65 without my authorization for some membership that I never signed up. Wasting my time this people to dispute this charge.

  18. I just noticed this charge and could not recall what it is however, I looked into it further, and did recall that I registered for the Hollywood 10k run going on next year. The charge I recall is $ 34.70, and this is what is showing online through my bank account therefore, I believe this too be legit however, I usually monitor my account often therefore, I will immediately notice if another charge bearing the same name would come through again..

  19. It was YMCA. totally legit.

  20. It could be from a golf course. Mine was.

  21. Complete scam and avoid comments from the users who say it's "perfectly legit." Best way is to contact your bank and dispute the charge. Don't try to figure it out.

  22. I reserved a room at our local community center and it came up as "ACT*REGISTRATION 877-228-4881 TX" (I don't live in Texas) - I panicked before remembering what it was.

  23. It's my YMCA membership auto-renewal. Whew...

  24. It is my city recreational center's membership. The first two months are ACT*Plano 877-228-4881 (Plano is my city name). However, this time it marked ACT*ACTIVE NETWORK 877-228-4881. I recognized it was a same charge by the same phone number used. A little confusion.

  25. It was for my $15.00 parking ticket in the City of Bellingham WA...not a scam people.

  28. I bought two tickets to an athletic banquet at my daughter's school and that led to a "trial membership" which then went to a "full membership" and a charge of $69.95. No where in the purchase process for the tickets do I recall indicating I wanted to be a member of anything. I did get an email (which went to spam) that indicated I would be charged--which is pretty shady. I am having the charge removed from my account and I have notified active.com via a response to their email in my spam folder that I have no intention of being a member of their organization.

  29. I wasn't familiar with this charge either--turns out charge was for pass to my community pool--don't know why they have to add 12 dollars process fee-ripoff. Next time, I will just pay cash

  30. I pay $4.00 for the water aerobics class at the Adamsville rec center. This was a legit charge for me.

  31. Had a charge "ACT*MtnCounty Parks" that was not mine. Called Chase as soon as I got the bill. My card was hacked for 1000.00. Be careful!
